Saving
Time and
Lives
The Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is a life-saving resource for its rural community in Missouri. Situated on a sprawling 64-acre campus, the new hospital towers eight stories high with a footprint of more than 465,000 square feet. M. J. Harris constructed the project in less than 15 months — an amazing feat considering that most projects of this size and magnitude require twice as long to complete. The layout of this 250-bed facility comprised of support services on the ground floor for easy and convenient access to Material Management, Pharmacy, Lab, and Dietary Services. The Emergency Department, Outpatient Surgery, Surgical Services, PACU, and Imaging were all centralized on the first floor. The patient tower housed an Intensive Care Unit on the second floor and a popular Women’s Center on the third floor. The upper levels featured private patient rooms away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the hospital. With such a mammoth workload and tight timeline to manage, M. J. Harris prioritized close collaboration with the client, and together, we carefully orchestrated every detail of the project from pre-construction to final delivery.
