M. J. Harris is making a difference in the lives of children this holiday season! Our Birmingham and Nashville offices, both participated in the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program this year and our project team at the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center had the chance to be involved in a Christmas Tree Adoption fundraiser benefiting Place of Hope.
As many of you know, the Angel Tree Program gives individuals, families and businesses the opportunity to spread the joy of Christmas to less fortunate families and children in our communities. Our Nashville office was able to help with the needs and wants of a 2-year old little girl by providing her with a winter coat and clothes, a Minnie Mouse jeep riding toy and a talking Teddy Ruxpin. The Birmingham office was able to fill the needs of forgotten angels, by donating winter coats and toys for boys and girls who’s angel tree tag went unadopted this year.
The Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Auxiliary purchased and donated 20 mini Christmas Trees, which in turn were “adopted” by staff and businesses and organizations in the area to be decorated and then auctioned off to help provide funding for Place of Hope. Our project team adopted a tree and decorated it in the company colors and decorative construction ornaments. On the night of the auction they will also place small tools and gift cards on the tree to hopefully make our adopted tree more enticing to potential buyers. The proceeds of the auction will benefit Place of Hope, a faith-based children’s organization providing family-style foster care; family outreach and intervention; maternity care; safety for victims of domestic minor sex trafficking; transitional housing and support services; foster care recruitment and support; hope and healing opportunities for children and families who have been traumatized by abuse and neglect throughout the region.
The spirit of giving is overflowing at M. J. Harris!
