M. J. Harris Competes in Pig Iron BBQ Challenge for 2nd Year

M. J. Harris is committed to giving back to our community through our philanthropic efforts and for the second year in a row, participated in the Children’s Harbor Pig Iron BBQ Challenge at the Hoover Met on October 20 th. The organization, which collaborates with Children’s of Alabama, helps to improve the lives of chronically ill children and their families by offering activities through recreation, counseling, education, respite and other supportive services during and after hospitalization.

As part of the challenge each team participating is judged on their ribs, pork butts and sauce the day of the event. Prior to judging, our Birmingham employees were invited to lunch and treated to a first taste of our entries. Not only were they a hit with employees, but the judges agreed…we received 2 nd place for the pork butts and 3rd place for ribs! Great job to Project Manager, Rob Harris on his impressive cooking skills!

Preparation leading up to the event takes time and lots of effort and our employees, as always, were ready to show their support. We appreciate their hard work in making this a great event; we couldn’t do it without them!
