A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday, November 2nd at the St. Cloud Regional Medical Center to mark the beginning of construction on the Emergency Department expansion at the existing hospital. The project will relocate the existing emergency department to a new addition, which includes 14,000 square feet of new construction, as well as 2,600 square feet of renovation. The addition and renovation is comprised of 1 trauma room, 1 major exam/bariatric room, 18 exam/treatment rooms, 2 nurse stations, a waiting room and support spaces. Additionally, the project will include a new main entrance, lobby, and reception and registration areas. A new main entrance/emergency department walk-in canopy and ambulance canopy are also part of the work.
The project is expected to be completed in approximately 10 months.
