The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing is nationally recognized and deeply respected for producing some of the brightest nurses in the country. M. J. Harris partnered with the esteemed UAB School of Nursing to construct a vast expansion of their current facilities. The project involved demolishing and replacing a single-story, north-wing structure with a new five-story addition supported by deep foundations. Our team strategically reinforced the existing first floor to accommodate advanced, new classrooms and an interactive training center. M. J. Harris supervised widespread renovations to the basement that entailed building new electrical and mechanical rooms for the existing and expanded spaces. The scope of work also included renovating the plaza level. Our team constructed a new roofing system with a paver walking system to conveniently connect the School of Nursing with other campus buildings. Through the close partnership of M. J. Harris and UAB School of Nursing, the project was delivered promptly and professionally exactly as promised.
