As part of M. J. Harris’ efforts to give back to the community, the company participated in the Children’s Harbor Pig Iron BBQ Challenge at the Hoover Met on October 21, 2016. Before the event began our Birmingham employees were invited out for lunch to have a first taste of our entries for ribs, pork butts and sauce. The family friendly event opened to the public later that afternoon with guests enjoying a sampling of BBQ offered by each participant, as well as some fun activities for the kiddos.
Children’s Harbor is a separate non-profit organization that has collaborated with Children’s of Alabama since 1995. The organization was created to improve the lives of chronically ill children and their families by offering activities through recreation, counseling, education, respite and other supportive services during and after hospitalization.
Thanks to the hard work of all our employees who offered their time and cooking skills to make this a great event!
